Hey! Quit laughing at my hand. Just because it has hair on it doesn't mean anything in particular.

For me, it has less to do with the genre and more the artist. I personally own several recordings of both Opera and Rap. Generally speaking, I am not necessarily a fan of either of these genres, though there are certainly artists within both that I not only appreciate, but listen to regularly. I am hesitant to dismiss every artist within a genre without giving each individual a chance. Nice post. Thanks.

As much as I would like to take my tax refund and buy some exotic bird to sing duets with me ... I have pondered taking some voice lessons myself. I think if I can belt out a song out in my car (where I currently do most of my training) with other people next to me in traffic that can hear ... I can stand to be embarrassed my first few weeks in lessons.

Very, very interesting. Reminds me of an awesome movie I just recently watched that has a lot to do with music therapy and bringing back memories to those who suffer from many medical issues. I posted a link from youtube for the trailer, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This is so interesting! When my grandfather had alzheimer’s, we would play his favorite music from when he was a kid to bring him out of the funk of his particularly bad days. It worked every time.

“This is Your Brain on Music” is a great book. I read it a few years ago, and highly recommend it. I own "The World in Six Songs" as well, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Thanks for sharing this video.
