Rock Band Camp
If you’re looking for the best summer music camp in the Detroit area, you won’t want to miss the Grosse Pointe Music Academy Summer Rock Band Camps! Our 5-day program is recommended for students between the ages of 8-17 years old, and is the perfect way for young musicians to immerse themselves in musical study.
Our 2025 summer music camp schedule includes 3 sessions: July 14th-18th, 2025 and July 28th-August 1st, 2025 and August 4th-8th, 2025. You can sign up online to reserve your spot.
Throughout the week, students will spend 5 hours per day playing their instrument, learning music theory, composing music, and participating in a variety of other lessons designed to help them grow as musicians. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced musician, our summer music camp is a great way for them to supplement their private lessons and make new friends who share their passion for music.
At the Grosse Pointe Music Academy, we believe that discipline, patience, and intelligent practice are the keys to becoming a great musician. Our summer music camp is designed to instill these values in our students, as well as to provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their musical journey.
Our rock band camp program includes instrumental study for guitar, bass, drums, piano, and voice, as well as lessons in performance, rhythm, music theory, improvisation, music appreciation, music history, and composition. We believe that a well-rounded musician is someone who appreciates and understands a wide variety of music, from rock and blues to jazz and world music.
Our summer music camp tuition is affordable at just $375 per week (SAVE $50 WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK!), and all students will need to bring their own instrument and lunch. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and shoes for outdoor play.

At the Grosse Pointe Music Academy Summer Music Camp, students will have the opportunity to learn from Bobby McManus, along with other experienced instructors. Bobby is a highly skilled musician and instructor who brings over 20 years of experience to the camp. He has a deep passion for music and has dedicated his life to sharing that passion with others.
Bobby is a versatile musician who has a vast knowledge of various musical styles, including rock, blues, jazz, classical, and more. He is well-versed in music theory and is able to explain it in a way that is easy to understand and apply. Bobby is committed to helping his students achieve their musical goals, and he works hard to ensure that each student receives personalized attention and guidance.
At the summer music camp, Bobby will lead the instrumental study for guitar, bass, drums, piano, and voice.
