A Unique Group Experience for Guitar and Bass Players
In most school music programs, students who play guitar are often left without the same ensemble opportunities available to band and orchestra instruments. At Grosse Pointe Music Academy, our Guitar Ensemble classes are designed to change that.
This program gives guitar and bass players the chance to participate in a structured, fun, and supportive group setting—something rarely offered in traditional music education environments. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, Guitar Ensemble is an excellent way to develop your skills, expand your musical knowledge, and connect with other dedicated musicians.
Why Join a Guitar Ensemble?
Guitar is one of the most versatile instruments, capable of playing melody, harmony, and rhythm. When multiple guitarists come together in a coordinated group, it creates a powerful and exciting musical experience. Our Guitar Ensemble classes focus on:
- Reading music in a group setting
- Learning ensemble techniques such as timing, listening, and blending

- Supplementing private lessons with ensemble playing opportunities
Students will rehearse and perform music arranged specifically for group guitar, which includes parts for various skill levels. A bass guitarist is also included to round out the ensemble’s sound. This class is an ideal complement to private lessons and helps students build confidence, performance skills, and musical independence.
Who Can Join?
