Winter Music Camp at Grosse Pointe Music Academy
Starts January 2nd, 2013
After the success of our Summer Music Camps, many students asked us to host a camp during winter break—and we’re excited to announce that Winter Music Camp is now happening!
Music camp is a highly effective and fun way to build strong practice habits. Both beginners and students currently studying an instrument will benefit greatly. Campers will develop important skills such as playing in harmony, maintaining rhythm, and collaborating with other musicians.
Throughout the camp, students will explore a variety of musical subjects, including:
- Song playing and songwriting
- Music theory fundamentals
- Jamming and chord studies
- Ear training and composition
- Rhythm, melody, and harmony
- Styles such as rock, blues, jazz, and more
Camp Dates and Times:
- Week 1: December 26th–28th, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Week 2: January 2nd–4th, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Pricing:
- $150 per week or $275 for both weeks
(Note: Each week will cover different content.)
Looking for a meaningful alternative to TV and video games during winter break? Winter Music Camp offers students a chance to focus on developing discipline, creativity, and musical skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Students studying guitar, piano, bass, drums, flute, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, ukulele, or voice are encouraged to join. Instruction will be tailored to accommodate both beginning and continuing students.
Additional Information:
- Students must bring their own instrument if they play anything other than drums or piano/keyboard.
- Electric guitar and bass players should also bring their own amplifiers.
- Please bring a packed lunch each day.
We look forward to seeing you at Winter Music Camp!
