Happy New Year from Grosse Pointe Music Academy!
By Sarah Boyd, Director of Music Together
As we welcome 2012, I’m thrilled to share that the Music Together program at Grosse Pointe Music Academy is continuing to grow and thrive! In 2011, we expanded from just one class a week in 2010 to seven weekly classes. Last fall, nearly 50 families joined us—and we’re excited to meet even more this year.
What’s in store for 2012? You!
New families are a vital part of our community. If you’ve ever considered joining a music class with your child, now is the perfect time. The Music Together curriculum is designed to support and encourage musical development from birth to age five—not only in your child, but in you as a musical parent or caregiver. Our teachers will help you observe and understand your child’s musical growth and offer simple ways to support it at home.
We warmly invite you to attend a FREE demo class next week:
- Friday, January 13th
- Saturday, January 14th
Our Winter Semester begins Monday, January 16th, with classes offered six mornings a week—Monday through Saturday!
We’re also pleased to welcome a new teacher, Emily Schienke, who will lead our new Tuesday morning classes. Emily is a board-certified Music Therapist with experience at The Judson Center. She brings great skill and passion to her teaching and loves incorporating guitar into her classes. We’re excited to have her on our team!
Check back soon for more details about all three of our Music Together teachers in an upcoming blog post.
