Ben Steel and His Bare Hands: January Performance Recap & Upcoming Appearances
Submitted by John Denomme
Ben Steel and His Bare Hands returned to Marge’s Bar & Grill in Grosse Pointe Park on Sunday, January 15th, for their regular monthly engagement. The band performed from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and with the following Monday being MLK Day, many treated the evening like a Saturday night celebration—great food, familiar faces, and classic tunes.
For those who may not know, Ben Steel and His Bare Hands is a spinoff of the well-loved Balduck Mountain Ramblers. As we head into the busy “Irish Season,” fans of either group can look forward to several upcoming performances:

Marge’s is an ideal spot for Ben Steele – the bar and our repertoire both come from deep in a prior century. We play the sort of music you might have heard on a staticky AM car radio late at night on a long road trip, broadcast on a 50000 watt station from a southern state you’ve never visited. And once you step into Marge’s, you’ll immediately understand why this is a good fit. We hope to see you there.
Thanks for the comment. I see you guys are playing from 6pm-9pm. A couple parents have asked me about local shows to take their kids to. Does Ben Steel recommend kid’s coming to their shows?
Our shows are pretty family friendly; however, not really “kids” shows. We’ve had many families come to various venues where we play – should be a good time for the whole family.
Thanks

That’s great to know thanks Gerry. I will let people at our academy know that your shows are good for all ages.
