Why Learn Bass Guitar?
If you’re interested in playing music in a group setting, the bass guitar is an excellent instrument to consider. Bassists are in high demand, as guitar players tend to outnumber bass players by a significant margin. In many bands, it’s not uncommon for one of the guitarists to switch to bass simply because no one else has taken on the role—this was even true for The Beatles.
The bass guitar plays a critical role in every ensemble, bridging the rhythm and harmony by anchoring the low end and providing the groove that drives the music forward. While bass players are often the subject of playful jokes, the truth is that a skilled bassist is indispensable in any band.

Replace “bass player” with “drummer” in any of these jokes and they work just the same! It’s a shame that the backbone of the group gets made fun of so much. Guitarists have it easy. They change light bulbs by simply holding it while the room revolves around them!
