“Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning”.

After working as a guitar teacher of mostly 9 year old-15 year old children, I realized the connection between those that were involved in a preschool music program and their learning abilities with music.  Those whose parents had them in a toddler music program were clearly more prepared to learn to play guitar.  They were also more keen with their ear being able to identify notes, and chords with no trouble at all.  After seeing this over and over again, I began to study the song material from baby music classes and kids classes of all kinds.  I researched the material from Gymboree, Musikgarten, Kindermusik, and Music Together.  I feel that the Music Together program offers the most diverse set of songs and lessons utilizing many different styles, tonalities, rhythms, and harmonies.  The content offered by Music Together will allow music class toddlers and their parents to experience new songs from all around the world.  All songs are professionally recorded onto CD and given as part of each Music Together Session.  Families will also receive the songbook with lyrics and music to each song learned in the session.   The Music Together class also makes it very convenient for parents with children of different ages to attend class together rather than in separate age groups.  Music Together offers other programs for specific age groups as well but the mixed age group allows for effective music training for all children up to 5 years.
