Message from Bobby McManus:

As some of you may have heard my main Seagull acoustic guitar which I use for my original music (the one with the Band-Aid) was recently stolen. While this is a major setback to my plans of recording an album Im determined to fight the good fight and not let this slow me down. With that in mind the next open mic will be dedicated to my fallen partner and will feature some great acts as well as my acoustic music produced on that instrument. Any contributions toward a new instrument will be gratefully accepted at the show. Another exciting open mic at Andrews on the corner!

Bobby McManus is a Teacher at the Grosse Pointe Music Academy.  He offers lessons in acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar.  Bobby is conversant in all contemporary styles and has displayed virtuosity in his playing techniques.  He is a patient and caring guitar instructor that helps kids learn the songs they want while consistently focusing on the fundamentals that will allow guitar students to progress to the next level.  Bobby has been hosting as open Mic Night at Andrew’s on the Corner for the last year.  It is a fun and welcoming atmosphere with great music and great times.  All musicians are welcome to show up and play!
If you are feeling generous that night, you may donate to Bobby’s guitar replacement fund.  Guitar Union Music Shop is a Seagull Guitar Dealer and plans to help out Bobby with a discount on his purchase.  All amounts no matter how small will be appreciated.  If you just want to come and have a good time and don’t care to donate to the Guitar replacement fund then please still come.  We want to hear you play and sing your song.  The last event featured lots of tunes from many genres.  I think we heard “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol.  Need I say anything else?  Come out to Andrew’s on the Corner and have a good time with Bobby McManus and friends for open Mic Night.  This is a chance to get up in front of people and perform your songs.  If you sing cover songs it’s cool too.  Andrew’s paid Ascap for licensing to perform copy written music in their establishment.
